HISTORY
PH&A brings to the A/E/C market 32 years of executive search experience. In 1976, Phil Hamilton (the founder) started his executive recruiting career in the Washington DC area. In 1981 he began to specialize in the Civil Engineering field and quickly developed a client list of ENR 100 firms initially in the Mid-Atlantic region and soon thereafter throughout the country. Over the next two decades he helped to build one of the largest search firms that concentrated in AEC. As the firm’s Executive Vice President, he managed teams in architecture, civil engineering, commercial & residential construction.

In 2004, he transferred to the Big Island of Hawaii (a story in its own right!) to open the firm’s Western Region and established offices in Kailua-Kona, Phoenix and Dallas.

Living on an island gives one the opportunity to reflect on what works and what doesn’t. In late 2006, Phil felt that a change was needed in how clients were serviced and candidates treated. Over the years clients and candidates have used the following words to describe working with him, “dedicated, committed, client focused, results oriented, honest, and persistent, and knows the industry.” Phil knew that if he could find the “perfect clients” and the “perfect candidates”, the level of service that he could provide would surpass their expectations.

With that in mind, he relocated to Atlanta and opened PH&A in April 2007.
